Matthew joined the firm coming over from the First National Bank Alaska Trust Department. His passion is fiduciary Wealth Management and Permanent Fund building. Matthew has a JD from Willamette University, is a member of the Oregon bar and is Series 65 licensed. He started managing portfolio’s professionally in 1996 and has 22 years of experience in wealth management, with the last 8 years focused on bank side-wealth transfer events for high net worth business owners and serving institutional clients.
During his career Matthew has worked for 3 firms in the top 40, ranked by fiduciary assets under management. He has a passion for all things Rural Alaska, dating back to his Bering Sea fishing adventures to pay for college and considers it a privilege to serve on the Board of RurALCAP and Rural Energy Enterprises. Matthew is also a member of the Alaska Estate Planning Council. He has previously held the FINRA Series 7, and 63 licenses as well as an insurance license.
Matthew enjoys problem solving and exceeding client expectations, he is interested in both the credit and debit side of the balance sheet. He works hard to use his legal and banking background to translate complex wealth strategies into language the average person can understand.
